Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How often should I clean my carpets?

Q: How often should I vacuum my carpets?
A: “Carpet should be vacuumed at least twice weekly, concentrating on high use areas.” – Carpet Cleaners Institute of the North West
Q: Why do my carpets look “worn?”
A: Properly maintained carpet fibres will remain relatively free of the damaging effect of soil. However, soils that are allowed to remain in the carpet gradually abrade and score the fibre shaft, reducing its physical ability to illuminate light. Heavy traffic areas then appear “grey” or “worn”, although no part of the fibre actually wears. We refer to this effect as “apparent soiling.”
Q: Why do my carpets resoil quickly after cleaning?
A: All carpet cleaning systems leave varying amounts of residue. Poor quality cleaning leaves high amounts of residue, which then attract soils quickly, greatly reducing the look and life of your carpet. ServiceMaster of Victoria uses Green For ® Carpet, a food grade, non detergent, without corrosives, alkaline or acidity.
